Hey All; So I got a box from a RC friend. Bid on a chance to help sponsor a Real MT builder and his dream. I bid on a rig and kinda forgot about the thread and low and begold I got it. SO you all know me,...... lol So I went about cleaning and stripping it a bit. And the Wrenchin' has begun. Not much so far but here are the first photos to tease a bit.l8r,w.

Old School Camaro meets New times Drifter livery.

AS I opened the box. Specs list will be added later with some thoughts on my redue there.

wow i cant remember liking a drift car before? This Camaro rocks though..LOL..

Strangest thing though wrench Old buddy, no offence intended here because your skillz have my highest respect levels...BUT...I liked it better before the wrenchifications?, well minus that yellow racing sticker on the rear quarter anyway.

I am pretty damn sure that is the first time I have ever gotten, or even had a reason, to say that :??

For me the classic muscle cars look their best in monochromatic colors, or a simple stripe (like the double stripe running down the lateral line of a 72 chevelle for instance)..or in the 69 superbee's case, id even make exception for that cool little bee graphic in the rear cross stripe around the trunk :righton

But hey this is your baby not mine, and your taste not mine....I mean it looks good as does everything you put yer hands on, but just not my style...now I just wanna see all the goodies underneth...Im pretty sure ALL of that will be my style... :rof

Awesome wrench. Did you bid on it because it was blue? Fits in with the rest of the stable perfectly.

My modus operandie was WWCFD What Would Chip Foose Do????? So I added some grafix kit leftovers and cleaned it a bit and slammed it down. Just happend to be blue.Lucky me. And I paid for it not a freebee but it was a fair price.Complete RTR just add battery. I think it will work out just fine for me and my plans to maybe do a full on Asian Drifter build project. But we will see how it pans out.Thanks for the kind and not so kind(Wolvie) words.lol J/K W I wouldn't want you to sugar coat it for the sake of argument.lol Stay tuned still have a few bucks left in PP acount. Might need another garage sale.l8r,w.

OK i can barely help myself here...this single thread has got me dreaming....why not have RC muscle car 1/10 drags...maybe Bill the light man can rig up a tree, have stock and modified class....

Do they sell a '65 or '67 GTO lid for these? I did see a '67 goat for the monster trucks somewhere....My Pop used to race a '65 389 tri-power and it has just stuck with me, my other Muscle car dreams are a '69 Superbee 440 6pack and a '70 BOSS 302 Mustang...I .......Uhm.... :smack

Sorry that slap brought me back :rof

Got a update for this rig. I decided to swap out all the silver srews for some black headed ones to blend the look. Also decided to go drift and scores a set of HPI Vintage Rims in Black and a set of Drift type D tires to go on them.Also got it running and swapped out motors. Here are a few pics to hold you all over.l8r,w.

New rims and tires;

And after I got done with them;

Not as quick as I thought it would be. But my batteries were a bit week. After cycling them a bit they seem to be much much better now.Also I swapped out the motor already after one run. I had a hotter motor laying in a box so in it went.I am also thinking of going to am FM radio setup since I still have my MX3 in a box too. So after getting out in the driveway for some drifting action yesterday I decided to lock the rear diff. I did this trick to my TL-01 and it has been working just fine for me in that rig.So here is my trick so you can reuse the diff after you are done with drifting and want the limited slipp back.l8r,w.

So all I did was dissasemble the rear diff and clean it real well. Then stuff the diff with the gears and some Silly Putty. Yup that is all I did. And you can just pull it out and grease it up to go back.Follow along.

Remove from rig;
Image

Dissasemble the diff;
Image

Clean diff;
Image

Image

Grab Silly Puddy and pack diff with just enough;
Image

Image

Start with a layer of Putty over the outer gear and under the planitary gears;
Image

Image

Fill in around the bevel gears and a little layer to cover the gears;
Image

Image

Lastly add the final gear and squeeze the diff cases together,Then trim any excess from the case along the gear;
Image

Reassemble the diff case and put it back in the car, All done afer than but the fun slides.
