hey chad i bought one of them and i have been using it over a couple of yrs now. as much soldering i do it has held up great!! in that couple of yrs time i have gone through roughly about 5 or 6 tips and a good pound of solder.

this iron may be priced cheap but i`d put it up against anyones expensive iron and guarantee you the same results for a fraction of the cost.

just pull the trigger and go. instant heat! just be careful, it can gte to hot quickly if you don't pay attention and don't have a knack for soldering.

well dont open one up if you still plan on running it, they seal it by gluing in the lid pegs. Let's just say that if i was to put the lid back on, it'd look like velineon-stein. My curiosity of why it crapped out trumped the once great love for it.

my soldering station consists of an inefficient 20W walmart iron and a steel plate to cover my work area as a heat shield.

gave up on deans. pain in the ass to pull apart even with 2 hands. went the ec3 route. pulls apart easier, all you need at most is a zippo(pentorch or equivalent is better) to assemble, and gives my gimp ass some thing to grip.

yeah my post was concering my MERV from earlier. I finally got in the screw for the pushrod, and replaced both screws cut the other was stripped. strangely it work MUCH better than before. tested it on my rougher part of the track, and it works ok so we know its kit ready. one stretch of its still grassy, but idk if im gonna till that part or just trim it very low & leave it to make it interesting. then bashed it in the same spot where it lost its screw. lol i stuck the landing this time!
