How many of you can say you still have the FIRST radio controlled toy you had? And who's had it for 30+ years?

LOL- well I am one of them people. In about '79 or so, one of my aunts boyfriends gave me & my dad a couple RC cars. I got the Ferrari & my dad got a Corvette. They are about 1/24 scale & were Motora-Wave brand made in Japan.

I decided to dig it out of the store room the other day. I put batteries in it & the motor does still work. Only problem I have is the controller is long gone, & I have no idea what frequency it runs off of. I tried all of my 27mhz's & the one 49 I have, but no luck. Anybody know how to tell what it might be? I'm wondering if the 75 on the hood might be the indication.

I still have some parts from my 85 Nikko. We had a thread going with pics of all our first RC but i think with 79, you got us all beat. Your RC is as old as I am.

I think one reason I was able to hang on to it all this time is the scale. Its the same as the model kits I started building about the same time. That, & my family is notorious for never getting rid of anything. Matter of fact, my dad actually still has his Corvette that I mentioned, last time I checked.

Tried a search on the net at all? way back then they might not of been on the normal freq. 75 range would take awhile with so many numbers....maybe even pop it open if you want and see if theirs anything stamped.

Nice old school ride. I wish I hadn't sold off my original HotShot and Frog's. Would have been fun to restore them and kit them with lipo's and Bl power.lol l8r,w.
