I got some aluminum micro parts in today. I was pretty happy to be able to finally drive my brushless micro. I bought it a while ago but it came with an FM Synth rx and I don't have any matching radio gear so I couldn't drive it. I didn't have a small enough 2ch 3-wire receiver so after I sold a bunch RC parts I wasn't using, I got the losi micro 3-wire from AMain and a bunch of aluminum parts from TheToyz.

I can NOT catch a break with this damned brushless micro. Like I said, I bought and couldn't run it because of mismatching radio gear. 2 days later my dog chewed up the wheels. A week or two ago Wrench sent me a couple wheels so I could get some rubber back on it. I was having a hard time with one wheel and found out today what went wrong. First, I had an issue getting the wheel on the axle so I took a small screwdriver and opened up the hole. It went on smoothly but then I couldn't tighten the wheel nut and the wheel spun freely. Today I found out there's a flat spot on the axle and in the hole on the wheel. I'm glad Wrench threw in second rear wheel/tire but it's a different color so eventually I'm gonna have to buy a new set of chrome wheels/tires. While I was messing with the wheels I noticed the screws in the toe links were backed out a bit and as I was tightening one down in the aluminum drag link... it broke. Luckily it came with a bunch of spares so I threw a stock one on it. Last week I bought Wrench's micro lot cuz it there were some aluminum parts and a few other things I could put to use. I found one of the alloy c-hubs had a screw broken off in it and when I was putting on the knuckles I broke a screw off in one of those. Today when I looked at the parts that came... I found that I had mistakenly ordered 2 front DT shock towers and one of them was for some reason a color I didn't intend to purchase. After I got all the good stuff on and got it looking nice, I moved on to the receiver. When I finished with that I went to plug in a battery and test it out only to find the red wire pulled out of the esc!

I've about had it with this damn thing and put all the good stuff on my stock Micro and sell this turd.
First I'm gonna contact Losi and see if they can repair/replace the xcelorin esc... maybe find someone willing to try to fix it for me.

Anyway, here's what it looks like with the new parts...
I'm working on alternating the colors between silver and blue. I also got a blue DT body from Wrench, just no pics yet.

Thanks, the alternating colors actually worked out really nice. The blue parts I got and the springs match that DT body I got from you pretty well... even tho it covers this stuff. I'm thinking red/titanium when I get around to upgrading my red DT.

There's a few more things I'd like to do it but pretty much what's left are the more expensive parts. Doing mass upgrades of cheaper parts, then the more expensive stuff one or two at a time... but that really only leaves oil-filled shocks, chassis and gearcase.

I put up a couple pics in the first post of the blue DT body I got from Wrench.
Looks a lot better than the neon green T body

Yeah, the body and wheels match the rest of the blue/silver alloy scheme.
Now if only this friggin thing ran... I'd like it so much more.

I have a feeling I'm going to either have to replace some gears cuz it feels a little gritty. I'm also having a little difficulty getting the slipper tightened down, it might just be how I put it back together. I was pretty frustrated last time I worked on it so I haven't checked the manual yet. When I stop being angry with it I'll check it out.

I was gonna say, you don't own a single tamiya, haha. It does look good though.

I don't own one yet.

I'd like to build a kit but don't have the money for anything.

Nice thing about tamiya is they're unique, they make many models that are far from normal/average. Like some of the fun older models, lunchbox or clodbuster. If you had the cash building one of the re-re kits would be a ton of fun, like having a flashback to the 80's. Anyway, too much hijack, back to losi micro.

I want a Lunchbox, Clod and F-350 High-Lift... The Wrangler YJ is lookin pretty cool too. But until I can find a friggin job my RC fund comes from RC stuff I already bought. I just sold a bunch of stuff for maybe half of what I paid for it, which is how I paid for these alloy micro parts and stuff for my AX10. I'd have to sell at least 2 entire RC's to be able to pay for a High-Lift ($400-$500).

Both of these have been long sold. I couldn't drive them in my house cuz one of my dogs would attack them, plus I had tile floor and they just couldn't get any traction. They sat unused for long enough it was time to find them a new home. I sold all my micro stuff on eBay to a guy in Alaska.
