I went to my first ever RC meet today. Went up to Melbourne (FL) to a Hobbytown for a drift meet. I was pretty happy to be able to talk to someone about my car, get some advice and test drive one with a one-way front diff tho the car had a D-Box and it got me all screwed up. It was great getting my car on a track with some other cars. We had a few bumps and spinouts but there were some nice passes and drifts. Would have been cool to have a few more people drifting, 4-5 people showed but it was comfortable. We lucked out with the weather, weather.com said Isolated T-Storms starting at one but it was sunny and hot. In fact I managed to get sunburned.

Here's a few pics from the end of the day...

^ My car (S2000) looks a little funny cuz I had to raise the body so it wouldn't drag on the ground.

Both 350Z's and the red AE86 were BL/Lipo, Chrysler 300 had a 15t Twister motor on lipo, I was running the stock 15t Firebolt on 3300 Nimh's.
The cars were on either ABS or HPI T-Drift tires.
I didn't get any info on the Camaro Cup Racer other than it was for sale w/radio for I think $150.

I'm definitely looking forward to next time. Hopefully I'll have some upgrades to test out.

Nice, wish there was more interest like that in RC in my area. Cup racer with a camaro is interesting. I really like the cup racer chassis, might need to get one someday.

Sweetness... I wish there were more guys here to drift with. I love mine and it would add a new layer to have a few peeps to slide with. Glad to hear you had a good time. I think you will be going back again.lol l9r,w.

For a month or two, I had a friend with a couple RC's but it was still kinda boring. He'd drive his Jato 3.3 (now mine) up and down the street and I had my Slash VXL, Rustler VXL or BL E-Maxx and drive them around the yard cuz there was a dirt patch. The Jato is faster than anything else I own (no 3s) so drag racing up and down was pointless and we had no track or decent bash spot, so in fact it was kind of lame but still cool to have someone else to RC with.

This meet was the first time I met anyone and had one of my RC's running around with similar vehicles. They're setups were a little better cuz at the moment my drifter is stock on ABS tires. Because we were on a track and it was their first time on the design, it was kinda even... except my brushed/nimh car ran out of juice way before their BL/Lipo cars did.

I'm trying to sell some stuff and save what I can cuz I want a Spektrum DX3R, at least one receiver and a Novak 8.5 brushless system.
