Hi there Savage, too bad Wrench doesn't get on cuz I'd love to find out if he did any mods. I got some mods on mine, mainly aluminum body parts but I'm finding out that aluminum doesn't hold up as well in a crash as flexi-plastic like on the front bumper. I got all my mods so far in this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCJtbIfjcMU
The only thing I updated since then was the radio up to a 2.4Ghz. I know in the video it doesn't look like the car's goin too fast, but thats cuz I got it setup for offroad. It's also crazy that it can do wheelies in wet grass, but of course I gotta pick grass outta the wheelie bar.

Should mention its not that this thread isnt wanted or a bad thing just saying you should start one for your ride only like others do. It also helps the forum showing new activity the more the better, and dont forget to get your friends to sign up and get on Bills offer in the announcement section :righton :punk

havent got it on yet, but spring break starts tomorrow so ill be able to finally do that. and if the weather bodes well here on the west coast, i might head on over to the dunes near Winchester bay & see the sand spray. had to reglue the tires just 10 minutes ago due to too many burnouts. i might have to re-grate the driveway soon. also, i got a vid of some of those burnouts along with some 180 turns & speedruns, so ill try to get that on youtube in the next day or so.

this would be for the guys that already own a slash to answer.

i personally would have to say no but thats just my opinion.

you mean the pro-line chevy 1500 body here:

well I feel that even that has too much of the off-road racer look. This was the original body that I wanted to get but was discontinued:

Discontinued already? It hasn't been out for long at all. I wonder if it's resemblance to the Ford F150 Raptor might have played a hand in the short life of that body.

Yeah, I sent a message to their site & one of their reps wrote back saying it's indeed been discontinued. But what's its resemblance got to do with anything?

I know I'm late to reply to this but...

Mods are usually custom applications, Upgrades are usually quality of parts.

On my Slash...

RPM Arms F/R, shock towers, bearing carries, caster blocks, gear cover
FLM aluminum transmission case. I had an FLM alum diff too but it disappeared before I could install it ($50 gone).
VXL 3500kv motor and esc
Proline Desert Rat body (painted by me), raised to accommodate larger 2.2 tires
Proline 2.2 Hammers M2 compound, standard foams on Axial 2.2 beadlock wheels
Spektrum SR3000 2.4GHz receiver
Traxxas aluminum steering bellcrank
New Era front sway bar
Custom lexan dirt/splash chassis guards / inner fenders
Shock socks
Lubed up and sprayed down with CowRC Moo-Slick (love that stuff)

I think that's about it....

about the shock socks, i instead took some X-Ray shock boots & modded them so they fit inside the spring and directly over the shaft. and about the splash guard, a guy on youtube made a chassis splash-proof mod using material from those dog head cone things.

I got mine from a guy on another forum. I commented on his and mentioned that I liked them, he said gimme your adress and mailed them for free. He made them from some scrap lexan, they're fairly sturdy but will flex instead of break or break where they're mounted. The guy I got em from ended up drilling thru his chassis and bolted them down. I used some 3M automotive double sided tape and it's held up so far.

There should be a thread on it around here somewhere.

I think it was Twiste08 on RCMT.net

I might have it wrong, it's been a hot minute plus I kinda dropped off for a while. I'll try to confirm that tomorrow.
Dunno if he'll be able to give any more away for free but he might be able to at least hook you up with a template to cut your own.
