Hey All; Well another project that I finally got around to. This chassis was a Xmas gift from the wife a few years ago. But with no body no reason to build it,right. Right before the holidays and my annual vacation the build was "on". I scored a body on the bay after a long time watchin and not watchin. But I got one finally ata great price too. Now onto the build, I wanted something different from the Advan Courage Mugen livery and paint scheme. After a bit of research I went with the 2006 official Le Mans Courage Team Livery. Once again there is a long version of this and a short versin. Well for now here is the abridged addition. Ejoy the pics.l8r,w.

Hey All;

Well I got this kit a while ago but never had a lid to top it off so why bother. Now I scored the lid for thid chassis. And since I am an Vacation for a week I am going to build the car right here with pics and videos posted daily or so. SO keep an eye out for new pics and vids dropping whenever I feel like it. Well to start things off here are a few pics of the starting piont of this build. OK here we go. Enjoy and if you want anything or have any ideas please feel free to chime on in. l8r,w.

Hey All;
OK back. And had to grind the ears off a servo case to fit between the chassis plates. So the whole hold up on this chassis build was the need to be able to put a lid on it. There are some different choices out there for the F-103 GT series but only this one from Tamiya. The Advan Courage LC70 Mugen Livery. And Tamiya offered up a fully completed version.But where is the fun in that? There ain't none. So I will be doing some research for Team Livery paint jobs for this chassis and body style. Or I may very well come up with my own take on something completely different. Stay tuned you never know. Well I finally scored a body at a fair price and am stoked it showed up in time for my week off vaca. One thing left for me to score is the Wheels and Tire package. Should have a killer variety of choces since this chassis runs 12mm hex TC rims.Kinda why I waited to hold off on them last based on what type of rims run by the Team I choose. Well here are a few pics of the body.l8r,w.

Here are a few pics of the bodywork and layout. After 4 coats of LM I think I am ready. And of coarse I needed to print out some pics but no colored ink left. Thanks Wifey. So I think I killed my new cheepy video camera so we are back to pics. Enjoy.l8r

Hey All;

Well I think I killed the video ster. lol The new cheepy video camera is having tecnical difficulties and will not record for more than 10 to 20 seconds and then shuts off. I swapped batteries and emptied the memory card to no avail. Guess I am more than it can handle. May try and return it and ste up a notch for a few bucks to get a new one.OK well I have been looking hi and low for some pics of the LC70 in different paint livery. And I think I have figured out the one I will choose. Here is a pic of the team theme from the 2006 Le Mans LMP class.l8r,w.

Here are the latest pics of the paint design and layout and paint. Enjoy.l8r,w.

First we start with some black. Outlaw black that is. :)

And next I tossed on the Indy Silver.

And now comes the hard part. I have to somehow at least get close to the Courage Competition 2006 Le Mans Livery Team Colors. Pactra only has 3 blue colors available. And by using diffent coats and number of coats. And then backed by colors darker or lighter to get as close as possible.

Well here is the latest in the long saga I call Project To Long. So it has been unseasonaly cold here as of late and I have had to sneek in paintwork when the temp permits. And add to that the use of hot water for the paint can and a blow dryer to heat the lexan and dry the layers. But for me I can get a lid done pretty quick around here,not this time. Here is the next color application and the blue is officialy done. I went with 2 light coats of #2 True Blue Pearle and one light coat of #1 Candy blue behind that backed by Indy silver. Next will be some cutting and trimming and some decals and mountage. Still need a set of rims for this build. Team was using some Y spoke 12 count in satin black. I am leaning towards a 10 spoke split in silver or chrome or combo of the 2. Just wanted to add a little pop to it. And I am thinking of a + 2 or 3 mm offset wheel in either 24 or 26mm. That is yet to be decided till I mount the lid and make a few measurments. Don't want them to stick out or in to far.Enjoy.

Hey All; Thanks for all the kind words gents. Yea I have been slacking to much on this project. Cold weather made me hybernate over the last few weeks. But I knew this project would still mess with me. I have gotten around to trimming and stickering. I still am not sure what to do with the tire and wheel combo. But I have a few mock up pics. Just to give you all a lil bit to hold you over untill it is "complete". Thanks for looking in on this build.Enjoy. l8r,w.

Just a little trimming my A**. lol Burned up a Dremel tool on these things.

Fresh out of the paint booth and in mock up phase for final sanding and off to the grafix shop.

Need to finish the drivers head/helmet and work on the details of the cockpit.

And last but not least how about a Sneek Peek????? OK....... I give, You can have just 1.

Hey All; So after all the research and indecision I went and ordered up some rims to finish it off. After a ton of looking and speks I scored a set of HPI 26mm +3mm offset black 12Y spoke BBS style rims. I mounted up the Tamiya TC race slicks that came with the build kit. Even though they are for 24mm rims they stretched onto the 26mm rims nicely and made them look low and mean. And I topped them off with set of Michelin tire decals. Here are some pics to go with. Enjoy.l8r,w.

HPI rims and Tamiya Slicks. Ready 4 mountin'.

Not done by any means.Looking for a defuser to add and a few other goodies need time to be made. So stay tuned for future updates.

Jams the fender decals were a PITRoyalA lol I tryed everything to do it overlapping like the kit instructions stated. But after almost detroying them entirely I decided to heat them up and then cut out the backsides. I made some trumpet inlets like on the real car out of flaired brake lines.The stock kit was just a decal.Here are a few pics for you all. Thanks again,W.

Well I finally had the time to get the finishing touches worked on. Here are a few pics. Still not totally finshed but for now it is.lol Enjoy the pix.l8r,wrench.
