Well, my course has taken alot of forms over the past year or two. BUt this version is by far the best. My daughter and I hit up Home Depot and spent about $100 in materials, took right at 5 hours to do all of this.

We started with chicken wire, "Big Gap" expanding foam, and crack resistant concrete. Here's my little helper...
Image

The foam part and making the wire structure was very easy.
Image

No mountain is complete without a tunnel. We also fed a small tube to the top of the mountain to creat a waterfall once we get to the water portion of the trail. I also placed a winch spot at the top just incase Tarus comes over and his rig cant make it. :tng
Image

Used some fine mesh screen to create this little rock
Image

The trail portion leading up to the mountain
Image

And here is the completed trail, part 1 of 3. I'm going for right at 40-50ft of hardcore/fun trail. I'm going to incorporate everything from steep sheer faces that may require a winch, to waterfalls, bridges and tunnels. The best part, my wife LOVES it. She wants me to do more believe it or not!
Image

Here's the sheer face. I hit everything with some streaks of black and gray paint to give it a more realistic boulder look.
Image

The tunnel is big enough to get my Bronco through, I doubt the Wraith will fit, but then again this trail is for my scaler and crawler. I'll add some yard lights and a waterfall once I get that far into the trail. The wooden bridge leading off the mountain will segway into the next portion. More to come...
Image

So, what do you think? Not to bad for a half days work huh?

it's a fun spot but the walk up there can be brutal. Since I have been juicing and lost some weight though it was a lot easier last week, I had not walked it in a long time. Anyways. we should for sure hook up for a drive in one of our spots.

I haven't done a lot of touristy stuff in SF really... only rode one cable car and that's about it. The marina is pretty cool though from what the wife says, worth a look see if you are in the area.

I got about another 10 ft or so done yesterday. It includes a mud bog and a trail that wraps around and goes through a series of clean out troughs...
Image
water trough goes through the tunnel and holds about 4-5 inches of water.
Image
Then it curls around and goes over a series of rocks and other obsitcals like my Model A rim.
Image
I've got alot more planned for it. I'm figuring on at least another section or two.

the trail continues to grow. This past week I aded about another 10ft.
Image
Image

This includes another washout that will hold water, gravel, etc. that leads to another homemade rock.
Image

Then to a culvert that you drive over that leads to what I can only best describe as stepping stones and then to a twist ditch.
Image

The trail will go about another 15-20 ft before I cross the yard to the spot I'm putting my double water falls complete with a drive under road that'll go undernieth the larger fall, and around the fish pond on the bottom level. The upper portion will drop about 2ft, then the 2nd level will drop about 4 ft to the lowest level. The route leading to this will be a steep hill climb complete with "downed trees" and other obsticles.

looks awesome man., this build is as detailed as all the rc builds!. now you just need some mini scale trail signs and its ready to go! maybe some permanent spectators too!

i was reading that some parts were almost too easy? what have you done to alter things.?

Update on the trail. Ive done some rearranging on the first portion...
Image
But the main update is in the completion of phase three. Ive got the uphill rock run finished and a rock gateway made as well.
Image
Heres the entrance to the swinging bridge. It doesnt swing very much, but it leans, lol.
Image
Image
Next phase, the waterfalls and the pond.
