I made this cargo net for crumplezone. It consists of elastic cord and some necklace loops. It takes a while to do this and make the squares work out to the same size, but the outcome is worth it. The method is about the same as my bungee cords, but harder. I start out with a base measurement of the relaxed length, and then subtract a inch. You want it tight, but not so tight you can't store your cargo undernieth it. I made my lengths and started tieing knots. You want to make sure that the ends cords are long enough to use as the hook mounts. Dont worry about the lengths of the ends, as they can be cut and shortened after you're done. Remember these 2 rules, measure twice, cut once, and also remember it's easy to make the cords shorter, not so easy to make them longer. You will need the elastic cord, a knife, needle nose pliers, a lighter, super glue (good stuff too, not the cheep crap that turns white) and the necklace ends.
Image

Once you have you're cords all tied up, put a drop of glue on each knot to make sure the cords don't slip and release your cargo. Use the lighter to seal up the ends of the cords so they don't fray.
Image

The end result is a cargo net that looks 100% scale and is fully functional. This net is stout and again, the ends will puncture your skin or bend, before they come loose.

If you have a interest in having a net or some bungees made let me know. I'm not going to go all in on these things and start selling them on other sites. But if you guys want me to make you some bungees or a net let me know and I'll shoot you a price. Or use this tutorial and make you one for yourself and I'll help with any questions you may have. :righton

NIce job.
On those hooks can you get them in larger sizes? Got a couple of the bunges here from Nate and the hooks are sooo tiny and on the wraith no where to hook em been thinking trying to stretch and make the hook larger but not sure how it will turn out lol.

you can get bigger hooks. I've found larger ones, but they aren't to scale. If you loop the cord around the post (cage) and hook it to itself it should hold fine. You can even crimp the hook a little bit to make sure it doesnt come loose. Those bungees through HR are alot bigger, and will fit around the Wraith cage. If you try to stretch the ones I've made they will either break, or get all bent out of shape. I'll look into some bigger loops next time I go to HL.

Thanks MJ. This net took all of about 3hrs to do. The hardest part is making the squares in the net the same. Each of the squares are about 20mm apart. I wanted to keep the squares under a inch so that it would hold your cargo down and not let smaller items fall out.

i thought about making a few and selling them. Ive already got another one sold and 6 bungees too. I'm afraid that the price will drive most away. I looked into a vendor star on that other site, but I dont think enough of them will sell to make anything. I might make some up and sell them on ebay for some extra rc funds. Next scale project is a truck pull sled. Starting that one tommorrow. Should be nice. If it turns out nicely, I'm going to make another to sell. Those things bring anywhere from $500-$900 online!

Crumplez0ne will post the installed pic once its in his F350. I've started on a rook rack for now. It's going to be made from 1/8 round stock and I'll be MIG welding it together. Progress pics will follow. The next build is a truck pull sled. :omg
