So I noticed that those of us new to the Lipo batteries always seem to want to know the same basic thing:

Is this _______ a good battery charger for me?

It seems there is usually one or more of the other members here who have a good answer for the question. So I thought it might be good to have a thread that would let us ask the question without cluttering up someone elses thread. And it'll make a good reference topic in the process.

And yes- I started the topic so that I can ask:

Is this http://www.hobbypartz.com/thac6smbachw.html a good battery charger for me?

Saw Sav's post about his charger from Hobby Partz & found this charger on thier site. Looks ideal for my stuff- the small lipos for my Micro's & the nimh's for my stadium truck. The lipo's are 20c & 15c 2s, 350 & 180s. The nimh's are 2400's.

Looks good my only negative would be it only does 5amps...if at all possible I would get something that can do 10 at least you just never know and like in my situation I to turn around and rebuy cause I didnt think my needs through better :oop not the first time in my now over 20 years in the hobby why I try to tell new guys to go for this item or that one I have learned alot the hard way unfortunately.
I do know a buddy that has this one and he has no complaints just another option, if interested I can ask him the amps cause it doesnt say on there.

this is my charger, i love it, but like savage says, it only does 6A but that is good enough for my batts.

love, i spent the money on it, and after 3 years it is stil the same price and works like a charm. worth the investment. only wish i had gotten the one that charges two at a time.

Well, I just "pulled the trigger" on the Thunder AC6 I originally linked to, as well as that bag Sav got. Found quite a few good reviews on the AC6, & will upgrade later on down the road if I need to. I just don't see any time soon that I'll be using high-powered batts.

I looked up the SkyCharger your buddy has, Savage, & its rated to 5 amps as well. Actually, from what I read, the Thunder & that SkyCharger are nearly identical, except the SC has an internal fan & balancer. The Thunder has no fan & external balancer.

Actually the balancer is internal that outside part is like what I got its just like an adapter to plug various lipos in like 2s to 6s. Could do like I did on mine to eliminate that board...Let us know how it works for you.
