the truck: sc10 brushed RTR stock eletronics and speed control.

so got the truck out this morning again to kill the rest of the battery (5000ma 6cell ninm) i ran it for about 10 mins last night no problems got about another 10 this morning then i was blasting up my front yard and the truck all the sudden stopped throttling and coasted to a stop i get to the truck its esc led is flashing orange. so i feel the head sinks there cold.... so i flip the switch wait a second and flip it again solid orange led good to go i think start going again it dies again. at this point i did it one more time same result take it to my "shop" check voltage on the batter its at 7.6v... toss it on the charger give the truck a quick visual everything looks ok...

i dont have a manual for the truck as i got it used from a friend! anyone know what this might mean or know what the leds mean?

Maybe cutoff is kicking in? Head to AE web page and download the manuals...

Sure sounds like the internal cutoff is kicking in. Has the gearing been changed? Also check the gear mesh for proper clearences. If it is to tight it might be building up to much heat and thermaling off. Any binding in the drivetrain? Best I can come up with so far.HtH.l8r,w.

As far as I know its stock geared, it rolls smooth, mesh sounds perfect its stealth!

I've been downloading off files onto my phone but can find the one that tells me what the lights on the speed control mean.

The SC200 ESC features internal protection from
overheating. This function protects the SC200 against
overheating during operation. If the ESC’s temperature
exceeds safe levels, operation of the motor will be
temporarily suspended. However, steering operation will
remain unaffected. During this period, the setup LED will
flash green and red simultaneously. Once the ESC has
cooled to normal operating temperature, motor operation
will be restored.

So it thinks its getting hot. But the fins are cold. Odd when I get home I'm gonna reset the speed control make sure its set for ninm batteries and run it again! If it does it again guess I will have to take her apart and make sure its clean inside!

well first thing i did when i got home was reset the speed control to ninm! it must have been set to lipo as i only had to do it once to get the 5 green flash! the truck is a blast. handles and jumps like a real short course truck! thanks guys for the help without your help i would oh had to wait to test it in the daylight yet another day!

on the run i ran the truck till it visibly slowed down. when i got it into the shop and pulled the battery it was very warm if not hot! the esc was warm to the touch and the motor was very warm as well! but i was blasting on it!

i can tell its going to be a huge change on a track honestly probably easier to control as a track is groomed and doesn't have 20 million pebbles and rocks gonna try to hit revelation or Pegasus this week and see how it and i do! if i get the hang of it well and fast i will take my brush-less setup down to the local hobby shop and have them soldier deans (brush-less setup doesn't have a plug) on it and soldier deans on my batteries as well!
