Hey Bill, I know LED's are popular right now but they do have a slight flaw: they have a short field of view. And I know what does: those Krypton lamps found in the newest Maglites. And those can run on the power of a couple AA batteries. It's something to try.

well i agree with what your saying that they are brighter and can run on less power source. but the problem being is that its not feasible price wise to try to buy them in bulk.
if youve ever priced them as a single bulb you`ll see what im talking about. believe me i would love to carry them as a option and give my customers the best bang for there buck.
far as 5mm leds go for seeing distance i do have higher rated leds but the cost is so outrageous on them. for 25 of them its 15 to 18 bucks. verus buy the lower rated ones at 9 to 12 bucks depending on which supplier i get them from for a 100 at a time.
i currently use 20,000 mcd rated 5mm leds on all my kits. all my other competitors use cheaper 10,000 to 14,000mcd rated. and charge more for there kits.
my problem being trying to stay competitive with them is they sell twice as more then me on eBay but they use cheaper parts. cheaper parts does not mean always mean better quality.
so far Ive sold over 8,000 kits in the almost 3 yrs Ive been doing this and have only had to repair, replace or send replacement parts to customers for a total of around 30 times. that's pretty damm good odds right there.

yeah i could do that but............why ruin a perfectly good magazine i haven't finished reading yet.....lol......although i could make a copy of that page an print it out. i would have to crumble the paper plenty of times, if not it could be a little rough going........roflmao

this guy under cuts everyone's prices like you wouldn't believe. an i don't really know how he makes much money to be honest with you. he floods the market with 3 to 6 auctions of the same thing ending at different times of the day. his eBay fees has to be outrageous. i bet you he has at least 100 listings between buy it now and auctions. i use to sell double of what i do now until he showed up. i mean i still sell between 50 to 100 kits a month on ebay. but i get a lot of orders through word of mouth,my website`s and a lot of repeat customers.

the difference between you & them is you sell one by one, so you can control quality. They sell in bulk, & dont really bother per each set. With you selling better lights & also offering custom setups, we all know who to go to.
