Hello all, my name is jeremiah and i just recently got my hands on a "custom" built crawler. Its fun but i really want a monster truck, so i can fly over jumps instead of crawl over a rock.lol.My setup currently is an integy 55t motor, duratrax intellispeed fwd/brk esc, traxxas 1500mah six cell power cell, and a traxxas tq3 rx/tx with a toggle for the rear steer. Im not sure about the chassis, but the lower links are now "straight" and not curved. here are some pics and please feel free to comment.. My goal is to turn this into a basher i can speed around and jump stuff and not damage it. I plan on shortening the wheelbase from the current 18" to 12", I'm picturing wheely king style. Money is an issue at this time but i am starting a new job next week so if you have suggestions for parts please say the benefits vs. cost. I have been lurkin on this thread for a couple days and i just have to say, you guys or girls trucks are awesome.

Hi there and thanks for joining.

LIke your way of thinking! lol im the same just cant go slow for long :righton Looksl ike wheely king axles so thats good, frame think ive seen that somewhere but cant put a name to it. Bad news is I dont think that frame will serve well as a basher setup....good news tho I know of a cheap solution around $40 to $50 for a frame

Seen some builds with this and clod tires and its pretty awesome, I wouldnt mind building a rig with WK axles.

Need anything else please ask :cheers

thats awesome and is totally the look im going for. the only reason i said wk instead was the fact of the motors on the axles. but i never though to just keep the drivetrain as is and still use the clod chassis. lol

Stampede tranny and it looks like TLT axles on a K2 chassis. I am working on a TLT axled monster but mine will be more of a shelf queen with a hard body. One thing you will need to do is unlock the diffs. Speed plus locked diffs equals broken parts fast. If those are TLT axles they really aren't up to clod tires either.

welcome!!

we will always help. specially with fun trucks. we tend to mostly be bashers and hobbyists and are always building our own rigs.

monster trucks are lots of fun too. i think you would do well with one of the chassis' that savage suggested. they work well for bashing.

Finally found the link I was looking for. I knew I'd seen a build of a monster truck using that K2-3L chassis.
