my mini cooper build thread

well gentlemen i decided to go ahead and build the cooper a little sooner then i expected since i have a little down time.
i opted to go with some oil filled after market shocks and left everything else alone. i didn't glue the tires yet because im planning on getting some different ones. the stock gray ones are just plain out ugly. i still have the body to paint and trim yet. hopefully i can get to that within the next couple of days.
so with that all said heres the pics of the build.

nice progress so far. So you are getting rid of the rims and tires or just the rims?

im gonna ditch the rims for something more fancier..........

i also forgot to mention i put bearings in place of the plastic bushings, blasted them with some good ole mooooooo slick.
also squirted some moo slick in the antenna tube and man didnt that little wire slide right on through.......lol........

Look at 3R they have nice rims, look back at my thread I have some red ones pictured but they have several color choices.
Yea that moo slick does good on the bearings, my rear wheels will spin for days lol. Gonna say might pack that diff more.

Where I got mine downside of course its across sea so takes awhile but try a search on ebay for m03 and might find a local dealer.

okay guys, ive got the body painted and light kit installed. i will get pics of the light kit later when the sun starts to go down.
i said i wanted to paint it something non traditional and i did just that. the main color was painted with spaz-stix hard anodized candy green and cant remember the rest of the colors used. i went to paint the chrome on the grill and thought i had enough chrome paint on it, well guess what.......nope and when i painted the green the grill turned out like this, actually kinda cool in my opinion. well enough chit chat and heres the pictures.
