Hi fellas,I came across this toy rc at wal-mart for $24.99 & decided,"what the heck" I'll take a
gamble, besides I enjoy modding toy rc's anyway. :tng

As you would expect from a toy rc,there is no proportional control for steering & throttle &
being MOA it suffers from clod stall at times.
After bashing it around a bit I would rate it equal to or better than the 1/18 nylint for performance, right outta the box & way out performs any stock New Bright,at the same price.
It is in no way a comp type performer but ,I think it is a good low-cost option to introduce
the "little-ones" to the rc hobby.
OK, enough babbling, here's some pics. :tng

Hey Spliff,..Yep, those tires come on the truck, they seem to be made of a soft vinyl instead of rubber ,they actually grip pretty well even though the truck is really light.

I bought mine and went right for the 9.6 battery upgrade with a Tenergy 2000 mah. Losi claw tires, wheel weights in the front rims. trimmed to front fenders and removed the bumper for articulation. I made a rubber bungee cord net for a spare tire on the roof. Added 6 LED's around it and made a front push bar out of a garden rake. Reflective flat black paint as well.

Project "Frankenstien" is underway. Making a custom tube chassis for the Maisto. But I'm hung up on the design. I'm trying to keep it cheap, so buying parts is out of the question. I'm using things found around the house/shed. :oop Any ideas or pics are def. welcome.

The gears & motors will wear out so fast that you'll regret all the work you put into a custom chassis, man. Not trying to be unsupportive, but I've got a little experience w/ these things.

You're right Jeff. I'm going to hold off on that project until I get a more worthy crawler. BUT...I am building a new Hummer body with either a full or partial exo for it. Should be nice. I'm taking pics of the build, it'll be on here within the next day or so.
