Dont be shy were all easy going guys here, no question is stupid and all that.
My name is Jason I started this forum and my friend Max also is part of it as we both are on our mini forum hyperminis.com but we thought starting a forum dedicated to the big boys would be kool so here it is. Anyone has suggestions that might makes things better or whatever please speak up and let us know.
Whatelse, well been in the hobby for 20 some years now first was a tamiya frog and been hooked ever since. Mostly a at home guy now days, had some complications to diabetes that wont allow me to work or drive anymore :cry I even have a hard time with the rc's I will die when I cant even run these guys I swear, loosing my car driving abilities was bad enough! I dont know not a bunch to tell about me really just wanted to kick this off so lets here from the others :punk :pepsi

Hello to all. As introductions go - I'm not very good at them but here goes.......

I'm a 53 yo male living on the East coast. I own two RC airplanes - a GB Cub and GB Eaglet (both nitro), 4 RC helicopters (3 nitro, 2 MA XCell Pros and a TT 50 and 1 elec., a QJ8 EX 2), 6 RC ground vehicles (4 nitro - 2 elec. - 2 HB Lighting 10's, 2 MRC Frogs (1 is a shelf queen) and 2 Revos. One 5309 running - one 5308 NIB FS.

I have a general interest in ALL RC ('cept boats) and that's why I joined - to keep up with the latest in RC.

My wife and I became first-time grandparents on 4/17/09.

I have a PPL and fly when I can and my wife rehabilitates (for release), orphanned and injured wildlife.

I also like to do a little FTA testing.

Guess I'll do one of these too, though most already know me. My name is James but there were too many in school so I was given Jamus. So why am I a grown man playing with toys? Simple answer is because they're cheaper than fullsize toys, therefore I can own one of everything, haha. I love all motorsports and can't even afford one of the real thing, so i like to have RC versions of my dream vehicles, i.e. rock crawler, trail 4wd, desert truck, monster truck, exotic sports cars, race vehicles of most sorts, etc. My RC collection is always in flux but currently I have a Traxxas Stampede, TLT axled crawler, and a Chevy Blazer scale 4wd in the 10th scale or larger range. I also have a few minis now, Tamiya Tamtech, Wind hobbies ferret, and pieces of a mini-t. Well, that's me I guess. See ya around.

Well, Im not real good at introductions so Im just gonna keep it short and sweet.

Im a 25 year old male from PA. Ive been building, repairing and customizing rc cars and boats for over 13 years. My first rc was an original Team Associated RC10GT which I still own. From that 1 rc car my collection has risen to 60. Off the top of my head, I own ( 4 - 1/4 Scales, 2 - RC10GTs, 4 - TC3s, 2 - TC4s, 2 - RC10DSs, Nitro RC10DS, 2 - MGTs, NTC3, Ofna Blazer SST 1/8, Kyosho Turbo Burns 1/8, 2 - B3s, 6 - Sprint Cars { RC10 and B3 Based Big Boys Toys and R.D.}, 10 - RC10s { Different Versions }, 2 - Bolink Legends, Bolink Sprint Car, Bolink Digger, 2 - Parma Hemi Coupes, Parma Hemi Vette, Nitro RS4 3 Drift Upgrade, Blackfoot, Bullhead, USA-1, 1960's Rc Cox GTP Pan Car and Custom One Off Drag Cars. )

All I can say about my hobby is that its not an addiction, its a passion. Its not about having the newest and fastest thing on the market. Its about enjoying what you race and work on. And last but not least, knowing the history of the hobby and trying to keep the cars that started the hobby alive.

Sorry Savage03, must have me mixed up with someone else, :? I've never owned a Savage. Started back into "ground" RC about a year ago with a used MRC :tamiya Frog I got from Ebay. Got the 2nd Frog as a "Shelf Queen". Then I got the two Lightning 10's (1 is a parts buggy) and then the Revo 5309.

I typically don't have much time for the RC because I spend most of my free time building my plane (see the signature)!

Hey All; Well just wanted to add my Bio to the list. I am 43 and been into RC and Models for almost all my life. Have been into RC since the early 80's on and off again. In the mean times I built Tamiya Static models. I have a bit of a fleet of rigs as well.Last count was over 40 and includes electric and nitro ans from 1/8 to 1/36 scale.I am a motorcycle mechanic and build alot of Tamiya 1/12 static MotoGP bikes and really wanted something that moved after bulding it.lol.I am in it for the long haul. My granddad said when I was young to get a hobby. I did.He built model airplanes and hung them from the ceiling. When I built them as kid we would score fireworks and build a model to blow it up.lol So after all these years I am a Builder,Basher,Racer. That about does it for me not much to tell.It is what I like to do.L8R,WrenchHead.

Hi everybody. My name is Paul. I'm 39 years old living in the High Desert of SOCAL. My heart however is still in Southwest Florida. I've been into R.C's for almost 20 years starting with a Traxxas Radicator and now I'm running a stock Slash with Integy springs on stock shocks and a custom vinyl grill made by a friend of mine.

Well, I guess i can contribute..
Name's Max, I'm in Arizona, just a bit south of Phoenix. Unfortunately, the RC scene around here is not too big, especially right now, with it being 110+ daily, but I still have fun and hit the skateparks. I've got myself a Slash, and it is a nice little rig. I got into RC because, it's cheaper, and safer than actual motor sports. I started off with an original Stampede, but it was thrown-out by accident after the chassis broke for the 4th time. So, I just got back very recently when I grew bored over this summer, and have been keeping busy since. I'm into customizing cars and trucks, and try to reflect that on my Slash when I have the time and money. I'm also one of, if not the youngest member here at 17. So, yeah that's mostly my bio.

I don't know, quite a few places haven't been built up. Especially in this economy, nothing new is being built. But, yeah, I usually use my front yard or the church across the street, has 2 BIG dirt areas and a river rock 'stream' that I usually just drive in. The high ground clearance works well for AZ.

Wow, I guess so. And over 20 years, yeah I could see something being built. Especially in the past 4-7 years, the enitre west valley is all developed.

Yeah, for my spots.
I occasionally go here, for the skatepark.

Or the church. For the decent sized dirt areas.

I occasionally just roll around here "33.291002, -111.987173" just behind the park, has the smooth curbs, lotsa jumps. And, the land south of there is Indian land, but there's PLENTY of dirt to go in. I honestly don't think I have the range for some of the areas out here. And, quite often it's just flat. But I might go to some empty dirt spot and make a little trick course or something. Y'all can come visit, haha. We should start like a map thread on our spots that we roll at...

Hello everyone,

Im the new guy here. I've got a little experience with forums, but Im still a little new to the arena.
I started my RC career with a Nikko Rhino in 1989 (it was a knockoff of a Tamiya buggy I believe) My best friend at the time had a Kyosho Ultima he had bought in 87 or 88, so he talked me into buying a real RC. Of couse it was the clodbuster.
To make a long story short, I was hooked. After the Clod Buster, I had to have the Traxxas Sledgehammer, then I got into racing dirt oval in 1991 with a Losi buggy, but I could never get it to hook up for me. So I switched to Associated and had a blast with them. I still have the Losi and the Associtaed stuff. My son has the sledgehammer. I sold the Clod Buster to buy batteries and motors for racing.

Then they closed the track, next came planes. I did that for about 10 years and now I have a bunch of planes hanging in my garage that are now consisdered Hanger Queens. ( I got divorced and moved too far away from my flying field and haven't found any place close to me, so its back to Rc trucks. And of course my first RC truck was the Super Clod Buster.
I just turned 50 in June and I have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren and all kinds of toys for them to play with someday. Now you are sorta caught up with me. I have a few builds done already that I am planning on putting up here soon. Thank you for having me
