RC Bashers

So where to start....Sure you noticed been absent a bit just not having a real good time, between my only hobby thats supposed to keep me busy, happy and so on but for the last year (last May) its been nothing but the opposite. First it started with some fool heisting my knuckles for the clod, then I get offered parts from someone else but those just put me into a wild mess of stuff not fitting right, 2 different tries at rebuilding it with 2 different types of frames one of which was a tuber I always wanted only to find out after selling it it was the tubers fault after all it was the parts....so now im being harassed across the www or better term stalked so I just decided to give up least for awhile their is just no fun left and 2 people managed to kill that for me.
For those that dont know im stuck at home on disibility, im a diabetic with eye problems and other stuff probably been like this for last 15 years it hit me really early like in my mid 20's im now 40. To boot I went to my eye dr. yesterday for my 6 month checkup and he tells me I got new problems...my pressure in the eyes has been steadily rising each visit and he says that is one of the signs of glaucoma, sigh...so I was told back when this all started that my first eye issue wasnt correctable and that they can only prolong my eyesight with laser treatment which that also has a downside each time its done it takes some vision with it luckily I havent had to get it done for sometime but in the early years when I had it done it took my side vision(cant spell the actual term perifial?) and my normal forward vision isnt great, so real car driving was taken from me which to this day kills me, my wife had to be the bread winner cause ssi dont pay shit talking $900 a month and we are from making ends meet with her crappy job and well CA isnt cheap either.
Anyways one day I will go blind thats the bottom line and now this new issue will only help that by the reading ive done, now have to go back and get no less then 5 different tests done one involving a needle in the eye from what they said to dialate !!!! cant wait. Yesterday was our 21st anniversary and had to goto this visit before we went out so that was a nice bit of news but shes a trooper cause most women these days would dump a bum in my case long ago for someone with money but she dont sweat it at all

So cant even go out and enjoy my hobby I have been involved with for over 20 years now cause for one my clod is pieces now, I live in this lame ass city and no where to run anything without driving somewhere which my wife has to take me drive it but shes recently got going in online school to get a better job so shes supper tied up right after work comes home and works on that all night so no time to drag my ass around, have no local friends so here I sit in the house 7 days a week and now forums visits are less for me cause im just plain tired of drama and frankly I dont need it right now.

Onto the forum, noticed a change up in the help I made a decision to bump my good friend Bill to admin since hes always here, offers to help anyway he can and when it comes to contests hes the man along with Nate and I thank the both of you and sorry its always left to you 2 only. MJ has always been a mod just not in the official list and jamus well hes been here forever
Bill is the man in charge so dont give him to hard of a time...well maybe just a little I will be lurking around here and there and might reply every so often to something but gonna just try to stay away from forums well other ones I will bo for sure since I have been threatened with bad posts on every forum across the www so whatever to that I got bigger things to deal with but it wont be allowed here.

Now please to all of you dont run off stick around and continue on im just one guy and a forum needs posts and new people to grow its the only way it will happen period. So if you complain its slow or dead well its in all of to fix that, see the more you post and more variety their is it brings new guys in and the bots that troll the board you see take the threads and they show up in the search engines so if a new guy is looking for info on a new traxxas something well if its here it will show up, try google sometime and put in a topic you know is posted here and see where we show up...
One last thign I have noticed, please do me a favor when ever you see a new member please please always greet them one thing I hate is seeing a new guy ignored they hate it and will move on so fast it will make your head spin. So if they post something if you dont have an answer at least just say hi and welcome aboard

sorry to hear about your eye sight getting worse. i know diabetics can get all kinds of different issues and seems like the eye sight is the main one. my grandmother had issues with hers also.

i have to give your wife a big applause for sticking with you through thick n thin and didnt take off when the going got tough. that right there my man is whats called true love!! youve got a real special lady right there!!

Man, sorry to hear things have been so rough. Sounds like you have a good wife by your side, and you can't beat that!

A couple of the guys that I run rock crawlers with are diabetic and one of them pretty severely. He's gotten pretty freaking good at it, even with being very limited in his eye-sight. Hopefully you can find ways to enjoy R/C through whatever happens here!

Yea rc was the one thing that got me out and something fun and while the fast moving ones like I have can be hard in areas that have obstacles cause my depth perception it terrible and for instance I would play around in this parking area that had 2 islands with curbs around it that you drove through to get out well were we park I was going through that and where I stand is some distance from it so when I would try to go through while wide enough for a car I managed to smack the front wheel on the savage on the curb haha ripped it right off so I stopped doing that.
Pretty much need a very large area and in the city thats really hard to find, the beach owns nothing at all to hit other then water! At 2hrs away its rare we go tho. Met a couple different guys over the years and used ot go out with them but they turned weird so made distance from those guys I mean weird Tried talking a few I ran across on forums that are in the area but they never seem interested in meeting up for some od reason if someone mesaged me id jump....plus most are into racing thats not ever gonna work for me again.
Crawling now would probably suit me best, slow and not much to it really but its really not my liking in rc suppose if it gets worse mighht have to learn to to like or just move on....

Anyways I dont whats gonna happen at this stage, could loose my eyesight sooner then I would like for sure, so much I would love to see....pearl harbor is a big one thats been on my list for sometime!

I hate when I post and don't notice it saying another post has been added, then I close the tab thinking my post was added. This is the only forum I go to that has that double check if someone posts while you are typing your post out, oh well.

All I really had to say was, your wife is awesome. And Bill is a great choice to handle the top. We'll hold the place together till life gets better for you Sav. Not if, but WHEN!!!

hey Jason, you will always have the friends you made on here. and no worries about venting us either. we all need to get things off our chest. you can't hold it all in.

tell your wife we all think she is great as well. a woman like that is hard to find!

Sorry to hear all this, Jason. I hope a step back for a few minutes will help to clear your head & let you focus on what you really want to do in the future. Your wife is a real trooper. I have faith it'll all work out in the end.

Hey Jason; Thanks for the update. Been worried about you and you have been in my thoughts and prayers. Glad you are feeling better and are back even if limited. I am sorry to hear about your eyesite. As the brother of a diabetic I kinda know your pain a little. Watching him go into diabetic shock more times than I can count as a kid I know how scary it can be. Most recently he has had a quadroople bipass heart surgery brought on by the diabetes and a crappy lifestyle. I am so glad God decided to grace us with his presence. I am also glad to see you have GREAT wife who has stood by her man in sickness and in health literally. What a wonderfull thing that is for you to have that. And if there is anything at all I can do for you please feel free to contact me and I will do my best for you. I really hope to see more of you on the forum but fully understand if you decide to step away for a while. We will definenitly leave a light on for you and save you a spot on the couch close to the boob tube. Keep the Faith brother. Scotto.

So to update anyone wondering I finished the lengthy testing I had to do last month and today went in for the results....so says I have some glacoma so I have to go back in a couple weeks for yet more tests and go from there, hes hoping it wont get worse or at least keep tabs on it close so he can do whatever they do if it got worse so now im on drops everyday. Pretty bummer day I didnt wanna hear that is what it is....

Thanks man, while I would hope it gets better well it wont I now have it so best that can be done it keep it from getting worse or at least try just means more tests more often for me yay! I just didnt need a 2nd issue with my eyes the first issue is bad enough and has already taken some of my eyesight this new one wont help matters. Not much more I can do I guess, wish I could come into a bunch of money so I could go see the things I would like to see in life! Pearl harbor is a big one...

this really stinks!! sorry to hear about it getting worse. sounds like you have a bucket list but cash strapped. i know that one.

well now that mary jane is legal for sale out there and as they always say i have glaucoma now you can get it legally...........lol........just kidding man.

Thanks bill, yea guess call it a bucket list lol not that its a end of life deal altho im rather stuck on this 2012 stuff so who knows Not sure what to do hobby wise now been screwing with these things for over 20years and its my favorite next to pc gaming so bit hard to give up, dont have to yet but its the putting money into them more should I or shouldnt I
