My mother-in-laws neighbor gave her these to give to me. They are made by Great Planes. I've got a Stinger SS which is in rough shape, a 1st gen. Wildcat which is in fair condition and a Wildcat SS thats dang near rtr.

The 2 SS models have this in line twin motor. They are Thrust Master "twinline drive" motors.

Between all the spare parts and what I already have, I think I can get at least one of these things sea-worthy.

Any ideas or opinions are welcomed. I'd like to use the original motor setup in the SS. They motors are rated up to 14v at full power. But my esc's I have now won't hadle that. I'm not sure if the old manual esc works or not. I'm kinda afraid to try it to be honest with you.

the white SS, is actually pretty fast in it's stock configuration. I've got to figure out the electronics to see if I can get it running. If nothing else, I'll gut it and put some newer electronics in there. Maybe the 27t Epic with a bigger prop and 8.4v pack. I'd use my Novak Explorer esc. Either way, one of them is gettin wet!

Well, I'm open to any ideas on this one. I hooked a battery up to the motors and they ran fine, no squeaks or heat. But I'm wandering if I'm better off gutting it and using a esc and single motor or hooking up a couple 7.4's and giving it a shot. As sure as I try it out it'll catch fire in the middle of the lake, I just know it. Here's the one I'm going to try and get running.

I hooked everything up every way I could imagine with the stock configuration and all t did was make smoke. I tinkered with it for a little bit and decided to take it all out. I put in my Traxxas XL1 and a 27t Epic with a 9.6v 2000 mah pack. Bathtub test was nice.

It pulled pretty dang hard with the bigger prop. I have two different ones I can run. I've got the brass one that I put in it, and the smaller red one. I guess it'll be trial and error.

I'm hoping to get it on the lake tommorow. I can't believe how much lighter it is. I know the traxxas esc is lighter, and half the weight for motors so with the weight reduction and a bigger prop, maybe it'll be some what quick. I'll get some video if I go.

Sweet deal! I keep thinking about grabbing a boat, but other things always take precedence!

Worked pretty good. I think I'm going to try a medium size prop next that I got from one of the other boats. It's plastic and therefor lighter, I think it might work a little better. At the end of the first half of the video it just stopped. After the wind blew it to shore I opened it up, and let the smoke out. Turns out the old plug melted and it had shorted out. I tested it a little while ago and all works fine. So I'm going to solder a new Traxxas plug on there and solve the problem.

My youngest daughter had some input on the name, as did Will Ferrel :righton
