On the H2, maybe something internal? For that kind of noise and jerk, something had to have given, maybe even a chipped gear. That's a LOT of weight.

I see a cliffhanger body on that redcat. I think the body was the best part of that cliffclimber, haha. I made a mold of the body off mine so I can make vacuum pulls off it someday.

Torsions bars, duh. I should have thought about that. I used to run s10's and they have the same design, just smaller. The mounts on the torsion bar crossmember were always wearing out and making pops and cracks. The adjusting bolts would break too but not as often. Then I swapped in a solid axle and leaf springs, problem solved, haha.

that my friends was the Eaton G80 locking differential locking up. When one wheel sslips it locks into place with a kind of clunk noise. GM is the only brand running the G80. With this setup and a 4wd truck/suv you have three wheels pulling when its in 4wd or awd. With the limited slip everyone else runs you only have two wheels pulling when its in 4wd. Notice the sound comes when he hangs the tires. Thats why it did that. Look up G80 locker videos. There is this one that explains it all...
