I picked up this Aeromax to restore. I've already stripped it. I was going to paint it blue and put Bigfoot stickers on it as a Bigfoot hauler, but have seen some blue ones online and don't like the look.

1st gear is realistic. 2nd and 3rd are too fast as far as scale speeds go. I'm thinking about switching to a 55 turn motor. That should make it more scale like.

I bought this from a guy who was going to restore it but lost interest. He had started to strip the paint but didn't finish it. It's no harder than building any of the 3 speed high-lift pickups.

Those big rigs are cool. Seen some builds on the Scale4X4 forums(?) if I remember right.

I love styrene. Why won't anyone but Tamiya mess with it?

I always liked these type builds. And don't forget about SemiJoe the master BIG Rig builder. Guy is amazing with these rigs and styrene work. He has a killer thread on RCDrivers forums. I was thinking someday doing one up like a MotoGP team hauler for my models. Good luck with and have fun with the build. Thanks for sharing the thread with us all.

What you do is click the youtube button right above ^^ then you have to take out most of the link and insert in between the youtube brackets so like this

YouTube]uEVQAFw4q2I
[/YouTube

I removed the outer brackets so you can see how it looks...most of the time its just the info after the =

Thanks Jay! One of these days I'll get it right. I blame it on the chemical preservatives in the food I eat. :drunk

I got the majority of the painting finished. There are half a dozen fairing pieces left to do. I'm going to let this sit for a few days or so to let it harden. In the meantime I'll look over the Tamiya light kit that was on it to see how much fun that's going to be to reinstall.

I haven’t updated this for awhile. It’s almost done. Just has a few things left. It needs a few replacement parts and some fairing pieces painted and installed. This project has pretty much reached the end of the line for me though. It’s about to hit the auction block. I’m into Monster Trucks, so Mod Clods are my addiction and where my main focus is at. I have project ideas going through my head right now that I really want to build.
