So I saw some of these a while back and was amazed at the size. I had to have one.

GT cars are basically off-road buggies converted to on-road. I got an OFNA DM-1 Spec which is a purpose built GT car, but you can see where the design heritage comes from.

There are not brushless versions of what I wanted, so I had to convert it. Here are a couple of pictures and a link to the build.

Somehow "Freaking awesome" just doesn't cover it here! Wow, this model is just how I like my women....tight, hot and beautiful....

Does it drive even half as nice as it looks? If it does good God :righton

Thanks for all of your kind words guys. I hope to have some video of this running shortly. Trying to find time to get to the track this week and trying to find a spot for high-speed runs like an airstrip. :)

With the 2speed and 2650kv I should hit between 80 and 90mph on 6s. (Nitrohouse.com's hit 81mph) I'll be driving it on 4s normally.

90mph! wow. i hope it has really good tires on it. at those speeds i would make sure you have your tires balanced, or the vibrations could cause you to loose control pretty easily.

Beautiful, and I love anything with cantilever suspension. I bet one of these would make a mean rally car too.

Man somehow my post to this thread was lost.Oh well. Nice rig Whip. The LHS mecanic runs one of those in Nitro form still here in Fla. They have an entire class of them that run down at HomeStead Speedway RC track. Looks like lots of fun to me. Also your street looks just like my Mom's block in Katy TX. But then again they all look alike in Houston.Do run at any of the local tracks? l8r,w.

Man that rig is just scary fast...the worry that come to mind about going scary fast is the potential to destroy a rig that is going that fast....BTW it looked still VERY stable, so I doubt your anywhere near the breaking point, BUT....

I dunno about you and the rest of the guys here...BUT I think I might literally shed a tear to see one of the prettiest rigs I can remember grab air at 80+ and end-o into tiny pieces all over the street!

NOT saying that will happen, and certainly not wishing that on ya bro, Just speaking from a guy who has seen the disaster first hand...just in mini form. It is hard to watch a creation that took loads of money and so many hours of your life disintegrate in front of your eyes!

I have long since given up on ultimate speed runs and learned to love and enjoy moderate speeds and destroying my models one part at a time :righton

Didnt even catch the vid posted before! Dam she gets out and moves! If you were in my area I got a awesome parking lot its not funny, I used to run my tc3 there and couldnt even begin to use up the space, no small curbs in the parking lanes, its a now closed military base so you know military does eveything to big, this lot I swear to you could land a cessna in it np it is that long and best part its never used and it was repaved not long ago.

btw when you do a youtube clip just put the last parts of the link inbetween the brackets, so in your case from d to A I fixed it for ya :righton

Hey guys, just to update. I took it to the track but broke it before I had a chance to get video of it. (Not destroyed as mentioned above... that was and is a major concern of mine at these speeds and why you see me only running 4s in front of my house) The track in Houston is a world-class on road track and plenty big for 1/8 scale, but this thing hauls and the walls come very fast. HAHA. Just broke the front end up a little. Parts on the way.

(Oh and this thing is very stable and I've balanced the tires)

(And that is a massive sized parking lot in that picture. I don't think one exist that big and empty in Houston. ) :(

Thanks again guys and I'll update this when I actually get some cool video.

LOL, breakage is part of the hobby. Fortunately for me, I am a better tinkerer than I am a driver.
I also have a separate bank account for RC so the wife doesn't have to see it. :)

I posted a couple of HD video of the DM-1 at the track today. Mike's here in Houston is going to be host of the GT Nationals this year in October. Looks like I picked the right car at the right time.
